Scholarship Prizes

in 2017 Western Dakota Technical Institutes is providing scholarships to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in the high school divisions. the scholarship amounts will be

1st Place  = $1500.00
2nd Place = $1000.00
3rd Place = $500.00

Awardee must attend a Western Dakota Technical Institute the fall semester following their graduation in a program of study that pairs with the SkillsUSA competition in which the individual placed.  Award will be applied to the student’s account with half of the scholarship being awarded the first fall semester of full-time enrollment in the program and the other half being awarded the following spring semester of full-time enrollment. Documentation of this scholarship must be presented to the Director of Admissions by the “last day to drop classes with a refund” to receive the award for that semester. GPA lower than 2.5 or part-time status eliminates eligibility. Additional competition scholarships cannot be bundled or stacked from year to year with this scholarship to increase the student’s Institutional award. Only one SD SkillsUSA Scholarship will be awarded per student for both years of competition. (If win as a junior, can use after graduating, but can’t win a second one as a senior and combine the two).  Recipient must produce original scholarship certificate.  This scholarship, amount of award, and semester of award are non-transferable. Since the Build South Dakota Scholarship is a “full ride” scholarship that covers the cost of tuition, fees, books, and tools, receipt of that scholarship eliminates eligibility.

These scholarships are given by the individual Technical Institutes. You will need to contact the individual Technical School for the specific details.
